I started building a mound, or berm between the pond and the brick walkway. I bordered it with some of the interesting rocks I found as I dug out the pond.

In this picture you can see I left the rock garden in the corner, I hope it will be a more natural shore for the birds and animals to get to the water - compared to the steep sides of the concrete edges.

Here's a picture from the bench seat showing the "upper end" of the mound. I plan to put a small pond into this mound and pump water up into and get it to run downhill from right to left like a small creekbed.
